The Torrent 6200 LTS
|
The Torrent 6200 LTS (LTE Test System) is designed to comprehensively test enhanced Node Bs (eNBs) as well as
mobile stations in a complete, turnkey LTE esystem. It builds on the architecutre established by the
the Torrent 7200 WiMAX and like it promises to allow
thousands of emulated mobiles to stress test the eNB or eNBs under test.
The Torrent 6200 will be available in two varients; one which actually tests the airlink and one which bypasses
it entirely for cases in which MAC rather than MAC/PHY testing is of interest.
Availability: 2H10.
Key Benefits
- Faster time to market
- Reduced development and test effort
- Performance and capacity confidence
- Subscriber QoE / QoS assurance

The objective of the first varient is to provide a platform for real time testing of
the LTE MAC layer and above on either the eNB or MS and in the case of the eNB, to test
the X2 and S1 interfaces as well. One of the key aspects of this architecture is that MAC
messages are sent by the MAC layer to the PHY layer over Ethernet through a virtual
PHY as is done with the 7200.
So, in the architecutre above, the MTS-6200 authenticlly simulates
very large numbers of mobiles and conversing with a virtual PHY (which switches TX messages to RX
and RX to TX as necessary). Next, there is the eNB under test, or our own ENB-6200.
Further upstream, the MME-6200, SGW-6200, and PGW-6200 emulate the Mobility Management Entity,
Serving Gateway, and Packet Data Network Gateway respectively, and each or all of them may be
replaced by their commercial counterparts under test as desired.
Finally, the NTS-6200 provides a convenient aggregation of network servers (MMS, PoC, WAP,
HTTP, FTP, SMTP, etc.).
Not shown for clarity is the CS-6200 which is the central controller for the
system which is Linux based. This server automatically configures, starts, and
directs the traffic servers in the system to run tests as directed by the user
through the UI-6200 GUI.
The Torrent 6240 communicates directly with the base station (or base stations) using live
air or coax, thus the key difference is the PHY which as indicated earlier is derrived largely from
the Torrent 7200 PHY which is also OFDMA based.
As the Torrent 6200 driving experience and feature set will be very similar to that of
the Torrent 7200 WTS, so please refer to the 7200 product description page or
contact sales for further information.
Availability:
Planned availability for the 6240 is 1Q11
